Minutes
The May 3, 2017 Board Meeting minutes were approved.

Items Approved of by Email
The board approved Teresa's bonus of $350 for the 2016 - 2017 season.
Teresa agreed to the contract for the 2017 - 2018 season.

Development Director Report
Madeline Beery volunteered and was appointed to be Development Director. Doug will submit two invoices for the King County 4Culture grant for her. The Seattle Arts and Culture grant will need to be submitted at a later time.

Board Member's Terms
The people with terms expiring this year are Dana, Hanan, Gennie, and Madeline.

Music Director Report
Music for 2017 - 2018 season was introduced. Most of the music should be available either in the RCS library or IMLSP website. The length of the fall and winter quarter programs is short so there is time for chamber ensembles.

Librarian/Equipment Report
The acoustic shields need new carrying cases. Gennie might have something that will work.

Membership Report
Sixty people were in the Symphony spring quarter. We still need string basses. Some people that may be able to help find players are the bass coach, Anna Doak at the Music Center of the NW or Kathleen Anderson.

Venue Report
The audience at Josephinum was the most enthusiastic and the largest in years. They appreciated our coming. Gennie arranged for the playing venues to be the same for the 2017 - 2018 season as they were for the 2016 - 2017 season.

Publicity
Posters and programs have been created by Cheri, who donated her time. She will no longer be doing the work. We need to budget for a person to do the graphics.

Treasurer Report
The Symphony will break even for the year. Member donations are helping us out. The members will be encouraged to add money to their dues, if they can, thus there is no need to increase dues at this time. Another source of potential revenue is a donation from people's IRA accounts who are 70.5 years in age or older. Hanan will look into this a bit more. The contribution collections at concerts needs to be managed better. We need to check on who is promoting contributions and responsible for the donation box. The current balance in the checking account is $11,301 and there is $5,060 in the savings account.
