In attendance: Madeline Beery, Hanan Bell, Linda O’Gara, Kathleen O'Keeffe, Doug Potter, Bruce Sherman, Kim Waggie, and Gennie Winkler.
Minutes
The December 19, 2019 need to reflect that Board of Directors was elected at General meeting not the Board meeting. December minutes approved as amended.
MCNW status
Doug reported that the Music Center of the Northwest's (MCNW) policy is that we cannot meet if they close the building.
Finances
Linda reported that she had reviewed the bank fee for check imaging. She found that the alternatives would be more expensive.
Bruce reported that we have 71 paid members.
Grant Status
Madeline reported that we received the Civic Partners Arts & Culture $500 grant. This is the final payment of a multi-year grant. We will apply for a new grant. We have not heard from For Culture. The decision should be made this month,
Sectionals status
Gennie reported that sectionals were well attended. The celli met at Wedgwood Church at a cost of $50. It is reserved for the April sectional. MCNW has been scheduled for April as well.
Venue
Kim reported that we will not be able to play at Norse Home after this season. Travel to West Seattle is a major barrier as well. Alternatives have been unresponsive. Madeline will investigate a venue on Queen Anne Hill. She also suggested the downtown Mary’s Place associated with the new Amazon Building. Kim proposed talking to elder placement services who might know about other facilities.
The consensus was that we should continue to perform in residential venues. It is a public service. It enhances our grant seeking posture. And it provides an audience for our dress rehearsal.
