I started on String Bass at age 13. Then 2 years later our Chevy Suburban, which would hold my Bass, was replaced by a small hatchback, which would not! So that I could continue practicing @ home, I switched to 'Cello and played until I graduated and left home...Then, unfortunately my 'Cello had its neck snapped and was beyond repair thanks to careless cargo loaders letting it drop off the airplanes' cargo conveyer! I picked up a 'Cello again years later when I moved back to Seattle and took a refresher course (Adult Intermediate Strings) at Northwest Music Center (I highly recommend them!) where I relearned 'Cello with the rest of the class. A year later I joined Rain City Symphony, Lake Union Chamber Orchestra and also Musician's Emeritus Symphony Orchestra. I played with all of them every week as each had different rehearsal & performance dates. Now, unlike the 'good old days'...I am too busy 'working harder' to be able to play with 3 orchestras every week. I came back Seattle in 2009 and chose Rain City because I liked the atmosphere and the people of THIS group the best!
